Die polizei
und ich

“Hey, she’s there!’ calls a police officer when I Walk along the road. I turn around. Does my pulse increase? I wonder if I have done something wrong? Sets my flight reflex or feel At last certain? The stories part here, depending on who I is how I am read, whether and how I included me in society. But also, depending on who is the policeman, who is calling*.

On the basis of interviews and reports from this theatre evening examines the relationship of individuals to the police. To achieve this, the research team has met with political activists and police officers, but also with people who in everyday Situations, and have had very different experiences with the police. Complemented around you can find popular culture and music on stage, text and choreographic sequences offer different perspectives of the relationship of Individual and state apparatus. The focus is on the question of what is the encounter with Police and the social cooperation.

The police are the only state Institution that may physically apply violence. Your appearance works: a uniform, a bulletproof vest, a radio, a distinctive belt with Weapon, handcuffs, baton – everything you need to be physical display and execute superiority. Whether in the music, in the Children's book, fetish or on the street, everywhere the presentation of the police for sovereignty and submission. And while exactly that stereotype and that gesture of power is in criticism: If I am afraid, I call the Police. I demand that they me, my possessions and all that I like to have, protected.
